Thomson Gale Releases Alternative Energy

Three-Volume Set Focuses on Issues Surrounding Energy Sources and Options

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., Sept. 12, 2006 – Thomson Gale, part of the Thomson Corporation (NYSE: TOC; TSX: TOC), announces the release of Alternative Energy.

This new set’s three volumes introduce students to issues surrounding current energy sources and alternative energy options. While there is significant discussion of the non-renewable resources now used to meet the majority of the world's energy needs (oil, coal and natural gas), the primary focus is on new options to meet the growing demand.

Entries discuss the science behind the energy source, notable scientists and scientific discoveries, current examples of use, and the issues, challenges and obstacles to large-scale use.

For more information on the print or eBook version of Alternative Energy, contact Vanessa Birch at vanessa.birch@cengage.com.
