Popular Business Directory Now Online!

Full-Text of International Directory of Company Histories Available Digitally

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., June 22, 2007 - The complete International Directory of Company Histories is now available as an eBook on Gale's eBook platform, Gale Virtual Reference Library, or as a stand-alone online resource. Previously only volumes after Volume 59 were available digitally; with the addition of Volumes 1-58, the entire Directory is available online.

International Directory of Company Histories
With information about more than 8,500 companies, the International Directory of Company Histories is a classic resource for academic, public and corporate libraries. Like the print versions of this series, users of the digital version are able to:

  • Find basic background history of a company, written by professional and independent writers to provide balanced and fair information
  • Research merger and acquisition activity over time
  • Determine the impact of particular sales and marketing campaigns
  • Ascertain the effectiveness of executive leadership
  • Develop a list of entries and print, e-mail or download articles for future reading

More than a third of the companies profiled in International Directory of Company Histories have had their histories updated, some as many as two or three times. Companies are selected for coverage or updating based on current events, specific corporate milestones such as mergers and acquisitions, and input from customers.

Libraries can choose to make the online version of International Directory of Company Histories accessible through a stand-alone interface, as part of a Gale Virtual Reference Library collection, or both. Because it is available on an online platform, International Directory of Company Histories is available to library users at the library itself or from anywhere that has an Internet connection, any time of day or night. The online platform also supports unlimited, simultaneous users, and cross-searching with journals and other reference products via PowerSearch, Gale's proprietary search platform.
