Thomson Gale Releases Literary Themes for Students – The American Dream
New Work Examines Themes Found Throughout Literature
FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., July 10, 2007 - Thomson Gale, part of Thomson Learning, announces the release of Literary Themes for Students - The American Dream.
This two-volume set is the first in the Literary Themes for Students Collection designed with the curriculum-based standards and approaches to studying literature in mind, examining the overriding themes found in literature.
By approaching subjects in this way, students build critical thinking skills by making connections between thematically-similar works of literature, as well as providing a more global perspective by comparing and contrasting works from around the world.
Beyond outlining the general treatment of the theme in American, British and world literature, this collection profiles authors and highlights more than 50 major works centered around the theme. Also included are an extended list of works in all genres and media related to the theme, as well as subject and title indexes.
